Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe

Also known as the Holocaust Memorial, the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe is a place of remembrance consisting of a 19,000 square meters site covered with 2,711 concrete slabs or “stelae”, arranged in a grid pattern on a sloping field. The stelae vary in height from 0.2 to 4.7 m. An attached underground info point offers information on some of the victims of the Holocaust and their fates, with photographs, diaries and farewell letters, even short biographies. There are also, historical photographs and film footage that show the sites of persecution and extermination. The memorial is located in walking distance from the Brandenburg Gate, on Cora-Berliner-Straße 1.
